About Me (or, "What Have I Gotten Myself Into?")
My name is Tom.  That doesn't tell you anything about me.  I am twentysomething.  I am a college graduate.  I live in Florida.  I earn a living as a programmer (or 'web developer') for a Very Large Bank.  You still don't know anything about me.  Isn't this fun?

There are probably a couple different reasons you're reading this.  Finding out who I really am isn't likely to be one of them.  More likely you've read something I wrote that interested you.  Or at least made you go what is this guy smoking?  Or you just want to see if I have any hot pix.  Or you just want to know what this blog's all about.

Well that last part is tricky.  I have a wide variety of interests and obsessions and this is where I air them.  So you'll find posts about music (I love all kinds of electronica, obscure alternative and indie rock.  Rap in small doses.  Country is right out.).  You'll find posts about fiction (I'm a voracious reader of sci-fi and fantasy, and have been since I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy aged eight).  You'll find posts about non-fiction (I am fascinated by cultural, historic and economic trends, by personality theories and by quantum physics).  You'll find posts about film (I dig high-brow indie stuff and kung-fu - go figure).  And you'll find posts in which you learn that I fancy myself a writer of fictions, though I have never been published.  This last is probably the most important to me, if not to anyone else.

Anyways, if you've got something interesting to say, drop me a comment, or an email.  You don't even have to agree with me 100%.  I've got something of a tongue in cheek sense of humor, but I try to play nice.
